The much anticipated storm came and left Skopelos without too much damage. The bulk of the rain was dumped on the Halkidiki peninsula. The screen grab above is of the lightning concentration at 07:30 Monday morning showing the storm centered SE of Halkidiki. Checking back to the same site yesterday afternoon showed the same lightning intensity in the same area (no screen grab, sorry). An all day storm for them.
So Halkidiki was really soaked, flooded and damaged while Skopelos escaped with only wind and a moderate but manageable dousing of rain. At least that’s they way it looks from here.
