What was unthinkable a few years ago now seems within the realm of possibility. The population of Skopelos Zebra® had apparently dropped to zero in the early years of this century. However we have just learned that a living unit was recently found wandering in an upper savanna and now we can tenuously argue that the population has increased a full 100% to a total of one. Zoologists from all over the island have flocked to the site (directions: up, over and in) to take a gander at the pup.
All indications conclude that this is a female animal. We’ll keep our fingers crossed!
Viewing hint: Look for these shy animals hiding under shade trees around noontime on a hot day.
