After news reported here last month of the opening of a privately owned KTEO inspection station in Skiathos, it appears that the regional government is accepting bids for resurrection of a “mobile” vehicle inspection facility to serve vehicle owners in Skopelos and Alonissos.
“The mobile unit will work with officials of the Regional Unit of the Department of Transport and will carry out inspections on a published schedule at regular intervals,” said Dorothea Kolyndrini, Deputy Head of the Regional Unit Magnesia and Sporades.
“There is a tendering procedure established for repair and calibration of the mobile unit that will work as a public KTEO.” The public funds available are 36.000 EURO. The tendering procedure will last 12 days.
We shall see what happens.
One might assume that sometime this summer the fenced in previous facility (concrete hole in the ground) near the football pitch will be reactivated -if someone offers to take on the responsibility.
